What Sets Us Apart? You are here: Faculty & Curriculum > What Sets Us Apart? At St. Dominic School, Catholic moral and spiritual values are integrated into the curriculum throughout the school day. Emphasis is placed on respect for others and acceptance of individual differences as part of a loving, caring family. The St. Dominic School Creed, recited daily by the school children, reflects the mission and philosophy of the school and is interwoven with the spiritual nature of the educational experience. Children celebrate an all-school liturgy once a week. The classes take turns planning and participating in all aspects of the mass including serving as greeters, reading or dramatizing the Word of God, acting as song leaders, singing in the choir and presenting petitions. Critical to the religious experience and Catholic identity of St. Dominic School, students participate in daily prayer, Stations of the Cross/Living Stations, Jesse Tree observance, study of the Rosary, May Crowning, recognition of saint feast days and prayer services. The goal at St. Dominic School is to build a family community and atmosphere that allows children the freedom to develop, grow and learn to the best of their ability. The faculty and staff promote academic excellence in a safe environment of loving acceptance. St. Dominic School welcomes families and children of all faiths who believe in a values-based education and spiritual growth and development.
