I need to go to work prior to the beginning of the school day. How does the early drop-off program work?

An early drop off program, organized by the School Board, is available beginning at 7:30 for students who must arrive early due to parent work schedules. There is no charge for this service. Children will be supervised by volunteer school parents. Supervision of the children will be held in the Francis Room, in the Parish Administration Building. Parents will be expected to escort and sign their child/children in, using the back center door off the parking lot. Guidelines that will need to be followed:

  1. Children are not to arrive before 7:30AM.
  2. Children must be escorted into the building and signed in.
  3. No food or drink will be allowed.
  4. At 8:00 AM children will be released to play on the playground (a teacher will be supervising). In case of inclement weather they will go over to school and wait inside.
  5. Students will be asked to sit at tables and read a book or finish homework. Please be sure your child/ren has something with them to keep them occupied. No games or other activities will be provided.
  6. It is not necessary to call ahead and let us know that your child/ren will be coming.

The weather is bad. Where can I find out if school is closed without calling the school?

We follow the Sheboygan Area School District regarding school closings. If they are closed, then St. Dominic School is closed. If Sheboygan schools are delayed, then St. Dominic School is delayed also. School closings or delays are announced beginning at 6:15 a.m. on radio station WHBL (1330 AM). This is the only "official" method of notification at this time. "Unofficial" sources of closing information can also be found on most local television stations and at www.cancellations.com (type in Sheboygan Area School District in the organization name field).

My child has medication that must be dispensed at school. What does the school need so that this can occur?

The parent is to bring the medication to school in the original container and give it to the classroom teacher along with a completed Medication Consent form (be sure both sides are completed). The teacher will send it to the office and medication will be dispensed from the office. This applies to all medication including Tylenol, cough medicine, etc. The only exception is for inhalers. There is a separate inhaler consent form that must be completed instead of the two forms previously mentioned. We ask that every effort be made to avoid having medicine dispensed at school.

My child lost his/her permission slip for an upcoming field trip. Can I get another?

Visit this link to obtain a replacement permission slips or by sending an e-mail to your child's teacher. It is important that parents fill out all blank lines on the form. Forms not filled out completely will need to be returned to parents and resubmitted in order for the child to participate in the field trip activity. If you are chaperoning or driving for the field trip, you must also complete and turn in the required forms. Chaperons must complete the Adult Hold Harmless/Indemnity Agreement and drivers must complete the Driver Information Sheet.
