What is the maximum class size at St. Dominic School?

The maximum class sizes at St. Dominic Parish School are:

  • Kindergarten - 24
  • Grades 1-8 - 25

Is there a waiting list?

When a class is filled, a family may place its name on a waiting list. Conscientious effort is made to make enrollment in St. Dominic Parish School available to all who request it.

What is the school's curriculum?

St. Dominic School provides a strong, thorough curriculum in all subject areas including the basic curriculum subject areas of religion, math, science, social studies, reading, English, spelling, and phonics. Special programs include art, physical education, Spanish, music, band, library, children's choir, student council and athletic programs.

What about religion?

Children of all religious faiths and background are welcomed with open arms at St. Dominic School. Religious instruction happens in a variety of ways. First, as a Catholic school, traditional Catholic/Christian values are part of each aspect of our school curriculum and activities. In addition, religion is taught as a subject at every grade level.

Do children attend Mass?

Students at St. Dominic School attend Mass each week with grades taking turns planning and participating in various aspects including the readings, petitions, song leading and more. Mass is just one aspect of how we celebrate our life experiences as a Catholic community through liturgy and prayer. St. Dominic School students also participate in daily classroom prayer using a variety of methods, including songs, formal and spontaneous prayer, and Scriptural reflection.

How much is tuition?

Tuition at St. Dominic School for the 2007-2008 school year is $2,076 for 1 child in grades 1-8 for parish members, $3 e-mail ,755 for non-parish members. Tuition for a half-day Kindergarten child is $1,123.

It is part of the mission of St. Dominic School that no one will be denied a Catholic education for financial reasons. Tuition grants are available to anyone and are not based solely on income. This is a confidential process. Applications for tuition grants (PDF format or Word document) may be obtained through the preceding link or picked up at the school office.

Can we visit the school?

One way to learn more about the school is to visit us. Parents and/or potential students are encouraged to spend a day or part of a day participating in the classroom, talking with the teachers, and learning more about what makes this such a exemplary Catholic school. Early drop off is available to students beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the PAC in the school basement. This service is free of charge.

Is hot lunch and bussing offered?

St. Dominic School has a hot lunch program and federally subsidized bussing. As we are within the boundaries of the bus system that is servicing the Sheboygan School District, bussing from Cleveland is also free.
